Christmas 2026 arrives only two days after Capricorn season begins, with a Full Moon having reached its peak on Christmas Eve. Further out, Jupiter is retrograde in Leo, Saturn is direct in Aries, Uranus is retrograde in Gemini, Neptune is direct in Aries and Pluto is in Aquarius. There is plenty happening, and Christmas itself could feel just as busy.

The Sun enters Capricorn on the 23rd of December, beginning Capricorn season. The Sun represents our inner self, power and self expression, while The Sun in Capricorn is drawn towards a purpose and likes to take charge and remain in control. Christmas preparations can easily become another task to complete, particularly when there are still a few loose ends waiting for attention. Decide what is important and accept that some things will have to be left for another time.

Later, The Moon in Leo brings a brighter and more optimistic influence, with enthusiasm and confidence coming forward.

Mercury remains in Sagittarius on Christmas Day, but it is nearing another change. Mercury enters Capricorn on the 27th of December. Until then, Mercury in Sagittarius is alive with ideas, curious and open minded, with a strong interest in conversation and the future. Christmas can bring plenty of conversation, but Mercury in Sagittarius can also speak without exploring all the facts first. With family, friends and different opinions together in one place, a little tact and sensitivity can prevent an unnecessary disagreement.

Venus is in Scorpio throughout Christmas. Venus represents affection, harmony and balance, along with romantic relationships, pleasure and our social life. Venus in Scorpio is more intense. It seeks a strong enduring bond and pays close attention to what other people say. This can make Christmas a good time to be with those you trust, although feelings of jealousy or resentment should not be allowed to spoil the day. Give your attention to the people who matter rather than worrying about those who do not.

Mars in Virgo could be one of the reasons Christmas feels so busy. Mars represents energy, strength, ambition and physical activity, while Mars in Virgo is hard working and determined to get a job done. It can continue with even the most tedious of tasks and dislikes disorder. That can be useful when there are preparations to finish, people to see and jobs still waiting, but perfection is not necessary. Get yourself a good nights sleep before the busiest part begins. Jupiter is retrograde in Leo at Christmas, sitting at 28 degrees during the week. Jupiter is associated with growth, prosperity, good fortune and merriment. There is plenty here that suits Christmas celebrations, although Jupiter in Leo can also be dramatic and can make rash judgements. Saturn is direct in Aries. Saturn governs responsibility, hard work, practicality, career, ambition and discipline.
